Alison Mills has recently started a new series of work. Continuing her reinvention of traditional landscape, the paintings now contain traces of human presence. As in previous work the image is informed by elements of chance and spontaneity created during the painting process. A heightened colour palette emphasises the dualities in the work that are at once seductive yet surreal and other-worldly. We are taking the enclosed painting to the Toronto International Art Fair in October, and will have other new work at the London Art Fair in January.
